Many times you may have been told to clear your cookies and use new
emails on offers and many times you ask us why.
This is a detailed post explaining why both are very important in offer
approval.
Cookies
Cookies are small files which are stored on a user's computer. They are
designed to hold a modest amount of data specific to a particular client
and website, and can be accessed either by the web server or the client
computer. This allows the server to deliver a page tailored to a
particular user, or the page itself can contain some script which is
aware of the data in the cookie and so is able to carry information from
one visit to the website (or related site) to the next.
This is how points2shop knows you've completed the offer, the advertiser
will send the cookies to points2shop which will trigger the offer
approval.
Of course each offer has different cookies and sometimes if you don't
clear cookies it becomes a right mess.
Example:
I complete one offer in the NDR Group, I get approved, and then I
decide to complete another offer in that same group, now once I've
completed the offer I will have 2 cookie sets, this will cause
information to get mixed up making the chance of an offer approval slim.
clear your cookies after each offer and the slate is wiped clean and
your considered "new" to the advertiser.
How do i clear cookies?
Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE)
1. Open IE and click on the "Tools" menu.
2. Select "Internet Options."
3. Click on the "General" tab if it isn't selected already.
4. Under the heading "Temporary Internet files," click on "Delete
Cookies..."
5. Click "OK" for the "Delete all cookies in the Temporary Internet
Files folder?" prompt.
6. Click "OK" to exit.
Mozilla Firefox
1. Open Firefox and click on the "Tools" menu.
2. Select "Options."
3. Click on the "Privacy" icon on the left.
4. Select "Cookies" and click on "View Cookies"
5. Select google.com from the list and press "remove cookie."
6. Click "OK" to exit.
Cookies can be cleared via any browsers internet security settings,
however the best way to clear cookies is to download a program called Ccleaner
Ccleaner is a free and safe way to clear your internet cookies from all
browsers with a single click, Ccleaner has many other options including
the ability to save cookies, so if you save the points2shop cookies you
wont get logged out when you clear.
Using new Emails
You’ll need to use a different e-mail address each time you complete an
offer. (Switching between 2 emails does NOT work)
This will help to increase your approval rate.
When you join any offer you will most likely enter a email, this email
is what the advertiser will use to identify you as a new sign up, if you
complete an offer from the same advertiser again and enter the same
email you will NOT be approved again so use a NEW email when completing
offers from the same advertiser/ offer group and you will get approved
more.
To create emails you can use any of the main providers such as Gmail,
Yahoo, Hotmail, Inbox etc, Also if you own a website you can use your
own personal brand of emails (Example@Points2shop.com) however this is
untested in approval rating.
TEMP EMAILS ARE NEVER ALLOWED AND WILL GET YOU BANNED
Temp Emails are just temporary emails, They are created randomly and
have a lifetime of 15 minutes before they are deleted, these are not
allowed on offers and will get you banned and your offers earnings
reversed, so don't use them
Its recommended to create a new email every few offers you complete,
Just make sure you don't complete an offers from the same advertiser or
offer group twice (NDR or ES for example) and you should be fine.
